What is Real Estate?
According to the American Heritage
Dictionary, the definition of real estate is:
the "land including all the natural
resources and permanent buildings on it."
Basically, real estate is land and anything
permanently affixed to the land. This is in contrast with
personal property which consists of removable objects.
When discussing Real Estate, people are
usually either looking to buy a house, sell a house, getting a
real estate license to be a real estate broker, or looking for
a real estate investment.
Real estate license
All states require all real estate
agents who practice real estate business to be licensed.
Each state has its own real estate law which is amended over
time. To be licensed as a real estate agent, the person seeking
to become a real estate agent has to take a real estate exam
which may be renewed periodically. The real estate agent has to
take a continuing exam to continue being licensed over a long
period of time. The frequency of the continuing exam depends on
the real estate law of the state the real estate agent is
licensed in.
